Explore and identify some of the insects one would find in the southern Africa savannas which include some of the mayor national parks such as the Kruger National Park, Timbavati, Klaserie, Sabi Sand, Pilanesberg-, Mapungubwe-, Marakele National Park, in the north west, and southwards all the way to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve.
With modern photographic equipment and even smartphones numerous people are taking pictures of these little insects. The beauty of these little creatures are often discovered when you zoom into your photo. This is when you begin to wondering what the name of the insect is that you have seen.
The objective of this app is to help you identify some of them using this app’s unique identification utility together with the photo guide. For many of these insects little is known, and where something interesting facts are known they are displayed as field notes. These field notes are notes that tour guides would share to his accompanying tourist.
For some insects the sounds or noises they make are also added. Actual observation distribution maps can be used to view where these insects have been observed however distribution information of insects are very little but we gradually have begun to build a database on their distribution.
